4x + 3y - 4 = 0; 6x = 8 - 5y.​

6x + 5y = 8   ...   (ii)  x 3

Multiply equation (i) by 5 and (ii) by 3

20x + 15y = 20   ...   (iii)

18x + 15y  = 24   ...   (iv)

equation (iii)  - (iv), we get,

20x - 18x + 15y - 15y = 20 - 24

2x + 0 = -4

x = -4 / 2

x = -2

Using x = -2 in (i)

4 * (-2) + 3y = 4

-8 + 3y = 4

3y = 4 + 8

3y = 12

y = 12 / 3

y = 4
