Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

let the time take by the car be x hours for 60km/h and y hours for 15km/ h

therefore. distance covered by the car with speed of 60km/h =60x km

distance covered by the car with the speed of 15km/h =15x km

According to question

x+y=8....(1)

60x+15y=555....(2)

15(4x+y)=555

4x+y=555/15

4x+y=37....(3)

multiplying (1) by 4, we get

x+y= 8

4x+4y=32 ...(4)

subtracting (3) with (4)

37-32

x=5

therefore time taken by the car at the speed of 60km/h is 5 distance covered by the car is 60x5=300 km
