The narrator entered Mrs Dorling's living room following her daughter. In the passage she saw there fashioned candle holder and inside the room she confronted all the belongings of her mother. She was in a strange room but all things are familiar to her. She felt horrified because all the belongings for being used by the Dorling's as their own. But Mrs Dorling take them to keep and return them.
