Here we have to find the number of three digit whole numbers

Now the three digit whole numbers are

100 , 101 , 102 ,...., 999

This is an arithmetic progression

First term = a = 100

Common Difference = d = 101 - 100 = 1

Let 999 be the n th term

∴ a + ( n - 1 )d = 999

$\implies \sf{100 + (n - 1) = 999}$

$\implies \sf{ (n - 1) = 899}$

$\implies \sf{ n = 900}$

Hence the number of three digit whole numbers = 900
