i) The mass of a iron piece is 50 g. A measuring cylinder contains water to a level of 15 mL. The water level rises to 20 mL mark when the iron piece is dipped in it. Find the density of iron.

Answer:

volume of the iron peace is the volume of the water displaced so water displaced is 5ml

therefore

so,

density d=volume displaced by water v

d=v

v=5ml

Explanation:

it is easy to swim in the sea water as it is a much more denser because of the salt dissolves in it which gives more boyancy

P=m/v
P=density
M=mass
V=volume

P of iron cube = 50/5 = 5

Answer to ii = Buoyancy – saltwater gives more buoyancy than freshwater because of the higher density of saltwater.
