the population of a town = 15600 at 1990 and then it decrease at 11420

total decrease population = 4180

Given :-

Total population at 1990 :- 15600

Population after change :- 11420

To Find :-

Percentage of decreased population

Formula required :-

{\large \tt \dashrightarrow \orange{\boxed{\tt \gray{\dfrac{Obtained \: value}{Total \: value} \times 100}}}}

Solution :-

First, we should find the value of population decreased by subtracting the total population and population after change

Decreased population :-

{\tt \longrightarrow 15600 - 11420}

{\tt \longrightarrow 4180 \: \: people}

Now,

Percentage of decreased population :-

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{4180}{15600} \times 100}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{4180}{\cancel{15600}} \times \cancel{100} = \dfrac{4180}{156}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel \dfrac{4180}{156} = \boxed{\tt 26.7 \bf\%}}

\Huge\therefore The percentage of the decreased population is 26.7%.
