i)

(a): 20:15=4:3

(b):20:35=4:7

ii)

Cost of dozen pens(12)=180

Cost of one pen=180÷12

=15

Cost of 8 ball pens=56

Cost of 1 ball pen=56÷8

=7

The ratio of cost of a pen to the cost of a ball pen= 15:7

Hope it helps you

Hi mate ,

i. a) Number of girls = 20

Number of boys = 15

When we simplify 20/15 , we get 4/3.

Therefore , the ratio of number of girls to the number of boys = 4:3

b) Total number of students in the class = 20+15 = 35

When we simplify 15/35 , we get 3/7

Therefore , ratio of number of girls to the total number of students in the class = 3:7

ii. a) The cost of a dozen pen = ₹180

Therefore , the cost of one pen = 180 ÷ 12 = ₹15

The cost of 8 ball pens = ₹56

Therefore , the cost of one ball pen = 56 ÷ 8 = ₹7

15/7 is already in it's simplified form.

Therefore , the ratio of the cost of one pen to the cost of one ball pen = 15:7
