(ii) Though I was immensely impressed, I did not fully understand their discussion in depth.

  • The word "would" is used as a conditional tense in the first sentence as it tells us about an event that has been occurred in the past and "would" is used in order to represent an event that occurred in past unrealistically.
  • The word "though" is used as subordinating conjunction in the second sentence. When a conjunction is used at the beginning of the sentence then it is said to be subordinating conjunction.
