Let x be the number

According to Question :-

Step 1 :- Double the number

 :\implies \sf2x

Step 2 :- Subtract 2 from the number

:\implies \sf2x - 2

Step 3 :- On subtracting you get nine

:\implies \sf2x - 2 = 9

Step 4 :- Solve the equation

 \longrightarrow \sf2x - 2 = 9 \\  \\ \longrightarrow \sf2x = 9 + 2 \\  \\ \longrightarrow \sf2x =11 \\  \\ \longrightarrow \boxed{ \sf x =  \frac{11}{2}}
