I took a dry plastic ruler rubbed it against my hair. After rubbing when I bought it near bits of paper I observed that bits of paper get attracted towards the plastic ruler. Suggest(oeektbvgyo) why do bits of paper get attracted to the ruler?

this is because of electrostatic force
when the ruler is rubbed against dry hair , friction occurs between the two objects and electrostatic force is created. that's why , the paper gets attracted to the ruler.

When plastic comb is rubbed against dry hair, the plastic comb becomes negative and dry hair becomes positive.
