then on Scotter = 25 - x km

Time = Distance/Speed

Time at walk = x/3  hr

Time at scotter = (25 - x)/24  hr

x/3  + (25 -x)/24  = 5/2

Multiplying by 24 both sides

=> 8x + 25 -x = 60

=> 7x = 35

=> x = 5

                                          ∴ 5 km by walk
