(i)Two earthquakes, one of magnitude 4.5 and the other of magnitude 7.5, happened in two different places. Which one is more destructive and why?

An earthquake of 7.5 magnitude on the Richter scale is more destructive than an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 because the energy ("strength") differences are huge and a lot of energy is produced during faulting, shaking the ground tremendously.
