Given

Equal sides of isosceles∆ = 16 cm.

Inequal side = 10 cm.

To find

Perimeter of shape.

Solution

As we know that,

If two sides of a triangle are equal then, the triangle is called isosceles triangle.

Here, one equal side of isosceles∆ = 16 cm.

⟼ Other equal side = 16 cm.

We know that,

➥ Perimeter of ∆ = Sum of 3 sides

Putting values we get :-

⟿ Perimeter of shape = Side + Side + Side

⟿ Perimeter of shape = 16 + 16 + 10

Perimeter of shape = 42 cm.

Therefore,

Perimeter of shape = (D)42 cm.

More informations about a :

⤇ Area of isosceles ∆ = (b/4)√(4a² - b²)

⤇ Area of equilateral ∆ = √3a²/4

⤇ Area of non-equal sides∆ = √[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]

• In a right angled ∆ :

⤇ Hypotenuse² = Base² + Altitude²

See the attachments above.

SOLUTION :

The above figure shows an isosceles triangle.

Here, we have two sides.

Using the properties of an isosceles Triangle, we can easily figure out the length of the third side, which comes out to be 16 cm.

We know that the perimeter of a triangle is equal to the sum of the sides of the Triangle.

Perimeter = 16 cm + 16 cm + 10 cm = 42 cm ........ [ D ]
