Physics, asked by gumbyhumby90, 5 months ago

I've been given work about velocity and acceleration.
if you've travelled 15 miles in 3 hours the velocity is 5mph. it then tells me the acceleration is 5 squared.
why and how is that right????

I thought acceleration was final velocity - initial velocity / time

I'm not given an initial velocity.
but I can't make this make sense and it's driving me made. someone please help

Explanation:

Motion Equations for Constant Acceleration in One Dimension

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this section, you will be able to:

Calculate displacement of an object that is not accelerating, given initial position and velocity.

Calculate final velocity of an accelerating object, given initial velocity, acceleration, and time.

Calculate displacement and final position of an accelerating object, given initial position, initial velocity, time, and acceleration.
