I've seen that Anaxagoras (500 BCE–428 BCE) was the first to propose that the Moon reflects the Sun's light, but when was that assertion first scientifically proven, and who did it?

Answer:

In about early 16th century, Leonardo da Vinci proved that the moon reflects the light of the sun and hence it shines. I hope it was then only, when it was scientifically proven or approved of the fact that the moon shines with the reflection from the light of the sun.
