Answer:

Chartered Accountancy – My Dream Profession

Category: Business, Life

Topic: Accounting, Dream Job, Professionalism

Today’s society needs more such controllers and respects them equally. I want to relate myself to those associated with accounts, finance and modern mathematics. My subjects in A levels: accounting, economics and mathematics, have supported me to strengthen my already built foundation stone in O Levels. Coming from a rural city of Sindh, Khairpur Mir’s, where I received major part of primary education in a semi Government school, it was arduous for me to cope-up with the rapid transition my life had undergone when I was admitted to an O/A levels boarding school. However, hope and consistent determination helped me in getting A*s in Accounting, Economics and Mathematics in O levels and straight As in AS level. Although I nearly failed in some of my initial mathematics tests in A levels, mainly because I was not provided the opportunity of taking Additional Mathematics in O levels there in my previous school, I managed to get an A after much greater efforts than required and now I am currently a Teacher’s Assistant in NIXOR COLLEGE, conducting regular classes of AS level students.

By the end of my first year at Nixor College, I was honoured as the best Accounts student, which brought further enthusiasm for mastering this subject and confidence to pursue my dream profession: Chartered Accountancy. My boarding school experience has groomed and trimmed my personality in numerous ways. It transformed me from an ordinary boy to a potential leader, mainly because of the punctuality, discipline and active involvement in society work they guided us about. It helped me in mixing with peers of different ethnicities, coming from divergent backgrounds and speaking unfamiliar languages. Moreover, there I learnt the value of money and management, since we had a fixed pocket money of Rupees 20 per day in this not so cheap society. The active participation in business projects at SST made me learn financial management outside the scope of books. LUMS is the dream platform where I can experience more such cultural integration. It is where students aspire their ambitions. It teaches us to attain excellence not only in our academic fields but also other walks of life.

My dream of becoming an Accountant has been firm and determined since an early age. I believe, choosing this career would be one of the most informed and confident decisions of my life. Given the opportunity to attend LUMS, I plan on working hard with the same pace and persistence. My journey up till now has been tough and rewarding at the same time and admission at LUMS could mean a further step towards the fundamental goals of my life: paying back the society and, more importantly, my parents for their unparalleled support.
