As for Mrs Van Dann, she had a moody , quarrelsome and irritating nature. She usually suffered from mood swings. As we see that Anne in her diary had written Mrs Van Dann a silly , sniveling specimen of humanity. Mrs Dann complained for every sort of thing starting from food to inability to look outside, etc. She always got scare easily and talked of being shot, being thrown in prison, being hanged and committing suicide. She really irritated others.
Mrs Van Dann constantly criticized Anne for her behaviour. She is jealous of Anne as Peter chose to confide in Anne and not in her. But, Anne did not respect or admire her criticism. She was always fighting with her husband.
Mrs Van Dann quarreled , cursed, cried , felt soory for herself and laughed and these always put out the other yard birds. But the only thing to be honored for was her cooking skills.
