Answer:

Explanation:

Competition causes a rivalry among the students. Aristotle said that educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. If there is a competition in the education, will we be able to educate the hearts of the students. A competition brings out the best in products and the worst in people. A competition might help in various ways for the learning process. But still is it necessary? I am not saying that we don’t need competition in our education. I am just saying that it is not necessary. Can’t we educate students without any competition at all? of course we can.

Competition is a situation in which people or organizations compete with one another for something that not everyone can have. In the end of a competition someone wins. what will happen to the others? Your answer will definitely be that they will be more motivated to try harder the next time. But the truth is that only a minority of the ones that lost, gets motivated. The rest of the majority fall off the track. Many of them gets depressed because they can’t face the others. Their parents, teachers, and their own peers pressure them to win. Once they lose they can’t face them. Most of the time the losers are bullied by the winners. This also affects them mentally. So they show lower engagement in studies. If a competition does not provide goals that are attainable for everyone the activity becomes unbalanced with some jumping ahead and others ending up left in the dust

Once there was a student who became the class first every year and term. Then another student got motivated by the competition in the classroom and gave his best to become the class first. In the next year he had defeated the previous class first by two marks. What would the previous class first do? He would do his best to protect his dignity in whatever method he can think of. He may even cheat and steal. The urge to win makes pupils forget their ethics. They even forget their own principles. So is competition still necessary for education.

Competition builds up robots. It produces insensitive people to the society. Since they have obtained their occupations after going through a set of competitions they are knowledgeable. They are skillful. But they have no hearts. They are insensitive. Can we make a better society with people that don’t have a heart. So what we must do in our educational system is making every student equally talented. We must not encourage them to step on one another and to become the best or the first of anything. We must simply encourage them to do their best. And we must teach them to enjoy the joy of simply doing well.
