Conserving energy
A recent letter writer says his PUD bill was $688. That had me very worried. So, out of curiosity, I called the PUD. They said it would take almost 10,000 kilowatts for a bill pushing $700. My home used 3,000 kilowatts. We conserve at our house. What is the writer doing to use that much energy? Maybe he should ponder how to be more conservation-minded.
We need to think about using electricity wisely and getting our rates down. Our PUD does have a program for helping citizens become more energy efficient. Call them. Attend the meetings to keep on top of how things are going at our PUD. Our most recent bill was $30 than for the same time last year and we only used 2 more kilowatt hours. That's 27 percent increase, not 18 percent. Voting Mark McCrady out would be a huge mistake. That man was a considerate mayor, and he has a kind heart. He listens and he cares. That is what the citizens need in our PUD.
