The laws are: (1) Every object moves in a straight line unless acted upon by a force. (2) The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force exerted and inversely proportional to the object's mass. (3) For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

QGP: The statement of second law that you have given is only a special case of the actual Newton's Second Law

NEWTON'S 1ST LAW:
Every inanimate object continues to be in a state of rest or state of uniform motion unless an external unbalanced force acts upon it.
this law is also called as the law of inertia.

NEWTON'S 2ND LAW:
The rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the impressed force and acts in the direction of the force.

NEWTON'S 3RD LAW:
To every action, there is an equal, opposite and instantaneous reaction.
