Ashwamegh ritual was performed by Hindu kings to show his power. In this ritual a horse is left to cover longer distance. The areas that were covered by the horse directly comes under the control of the king who is performing that ritual. If any king stopped that horse then that king have to fight with the king who is performing that ritual.
