I believe in the power of princesses. As a child, Cinderella was my ultimate idol. I plopped myself down in front of the television the minute I got home to watch the movie. Of course I loved all the other princesses, but Cinderella always held a special place in my heart. I am not sure if it was her warm smile, her kindness or her beauty, but I fell in love with the idea of being a princess.
From then on I decided that my name should be “Princess Payten”. I started collecting crown, one for each type of occasion, whether it be my crown for going to the royal balls of the crown for my fancy make-believe luncheons. I believe that my wild imagination gave me a special kind of subtle confidence fit for a princess. I always kept my head held up a little straighter and tried my best to use proper posture. I held my pinky out when drinking milk and I used fancy words like “darling” and “your majesty”. I even perfected my English accent! Although I might have looked like a princess, I was not truly royalty yet until I had adjusted my insides to resemble a princess as well.
I learned that every girl is eligible to be a princess, no matter her shape, size, or color. If she follows these four simple rules, she will no doubt be a true princess.
1. Truly be nice: It is the princess that makes the crown, not the crown that makes the princess. Every one likes to be with someone who is nice, so go out of your way to help others, do good deeds and smile.
2. Be compassionate: No one like a snobby princess, make sure to pay careful attention to others and always help them in their time of need. And remember, treat others they way you want to be treated.
3. Be confident: Always remember to be yourself. If you look in the mirror and believe that you are beautiful, so will everyone else.
4. Do well in school: It is important that you don’t forget about your studies, because these will help you in the future.
