He was the founder of the Maurya dynasty. He ruled under the guidance of kautilya...He beated the selecus nicater who was the army chief of the Alexander the Great who left India in 305 BC.. His wife name was durdhara and his successor was his son bindusara....named it because of spot due to poison which he had received when his mother was pregnant..
