A bird in hand is worth two in bushes

once there was a bird hunter. He went in a forest to catch. After very hard work he could catch only one bird. He then wanted to cook and eat the bird. When he was setting the fire the bird told him," Please don't kill me. If you let me live, i will let you catch two other birds who are my friends." The hunter was greedy and told him to show the place where his friends lived.
They went there and the bird said," Let me fly to the topmost branch of a tree from where i will call my friends". The hunter agreed. But as soon as the hunter released the bird the bird flew away and never returned and the hunter was regretting his decision due to his greed.
