Anchoring Script for Independence Day

Good Morning Ladies and Gentleman.

Isn’t it a very special day today? How beautiful is the sky, the birds flying freely above us, the gentle breeze and our being here to be able to hoist the flag of our beloved Motherland, and greet each other ‘Jai Hind’ without being shot or arrested. This has been possible only at the cost of the blood of millions of our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our Independence.

In this sacred morn of Independence Day I would like to wish all of you ‘A very Happy Independence Day’. We are indeed lucky to live in an independent country. Our freedom has been very expensive and we must see to it that we retain our freedom with respect and honour. We must stand united and strong. Our one and only identity is we are ‘Indian’. At all costs we must preserve it.
