Reveling maps can show enemies where the seas are where the gold mines or any place they want to know they will just know each and everything . Even though we don't reaveal maps we can see every place through a satellite soo it's a advantage to enemies to know about the country they want to attack or etcc

free access to maps is not a good thing because if everyone gets the free access then even country will know the secrets of the enemy country...

thats why government should not give free access to maps...
