insects

There are many types of insects living in our houses that are not visible. Most insects only come out at nighttime when it is quiet around the house. Most people think that insects live outside in gardens and backyards but that is not true because insects are constantly around us, even though some cant really be seen for instance like lice, fleas and other small little insects. The thing to remember is that even though you do not see the insects, it doesn't mean that they are not there. Insects hide in many places like underneath the floor and in between the walls.
Some people are fascinated by insects and collect them for pets, like spiders, ants (ant farm), tarantella, and other insects. There are also many people who dislike them. Take me for example I am horrified just by the thought of insects. I find them very disgusting and scary, even though I know some insects are not harmful such as butterflies, flies, ladybugs, and grasshoppers. Though I know that some insects are harmless, I still live in fear of them because they look scary.
There are many insects that I fear and dislike. I think they are yucky, gross, and slimy. I had this dream two nights ago about this enormous spider that was in my room crawling on my bed and I ran out and closed the door. Then somehow I ended up at my friend's house and that gigantic spider appeared and chased after us and ate my best friend, Renee. It was a horrible dream, I think I probably dreamt about that because I am terrified of spiders. I am also terrified of bees because it stung my little cousin many times in the past. As you can see I am not really a bug lover. Whenever I see an insect I mostly tell my friends to kill it for me because I am scared to even go close to it. Just the way they look horrifies me, they have so many legs and weird designs on their bodies. Even though I understand that some insects do no harm and actually help the world with the food chain

Insects, are a class in the phylum Arthropoda.[1] They are small terrestrial invertebrates which have a hard exoskeleton.

Insects are the largest group of animals on earth by far: about 926,400 different species have been described.[2] They are more than half of all known living species.[3][4][3][5][6] They may be over 90% of animal species on Earth.[7]

New species of insects are continually being found.[8] Estimates of the total number of species range from 2 million to 30 million.[2]

Insects have six legs; and most have wings. Insects were the first animals capable of flight. As they develop from eggs, insects undergo metamorphosis. Insects live all over the planet: almost all are terrestrial (live on land). Few insects live in the oceans or in very cold places, such as Antarctica. The most species live in tropical areas.

Some people call all insects "bugs", but this is not correct. Only some insects are true bugs, which is a particular order of insects. People who study insects are called entomologists.
