The play is written by Norman McKinnell is written on a very simple plot, it includes The Bishop, the convict and The Bishop's sister, Marie and others. The plot of the play revolves around the themes of Christian virtues like love and redemption.
The play is based on the dialogues between Persome, The Bishop's Sister and Marie regarding the whereabouts of the Bishop.
After a few questioning, Bishop's sister is able to sense that Bishop may have gone to his usual philanthropic activities and she thinks maybe the simplicity of Bishop is being misused and he fell an easy prey due to his innocence.
After a while, Persome comes to know that the gift given by her mother was given away by the Bishop to save him from imminent eviction.
Then the play takes an interesting turn when a stranger enters who asks for food and threatens to kill him in case he informs others about his presence and he reveals his identity to Bishop. During the stay of a stranger in Bishop's house, he comes across the silver candlesticks.
Bishop tells the stranger about the candles and how his mother gave them to him, finally the stranger steals the candles and runs away.
Later the police arrests the stranger and Bishop advises him to start working and become a good human being. He goes to Paris to start his business and settles down successfully and becomes a man from the beast.
