Question No 6:

For gaining 25% the shopkeeper should sell it to:

= 880 + 25% of 880

= 880+ 25x 880/100

= 880+220

= 1100

So let the shopkeeper mark the price to X, hence after cutting 12% from X he should sell it to Rs 1100.

=> X - 12% of X = 1100

=> X - 12*X/100 = 1100

=> 88*X/100 = 1100

=> X = 1100*100/88

=> X = 1250

Hence the shopkeeper should mark the price to Rs 1250.

Question no 7:

After 5% discount the price should be:

= 480- 5*480/100

=480-24

= 456

Further after 2% discount for paying cash, the net price will be :

=456 -2*456/100

=456-9.12

=446.88

So you have to pay Rs 446.88 in cash.

Question 6

The cost price is RS 880

Let X be the marked price

He want to get 25% profit after allowing 12% discount

x * (88/100) = 880* (125/100)

from this we get x = 1250

Question7

In this question  The marked price of an article is RS. 480

initially shopkeeper allow 5% discount

so the amount reduced to 480 * (95/100) =480 * 0.95

Again the shopkeeper allow 2% discount on reduced amount 480 *0.95

reduced amount * 0.98

Actual amount to pay = 480 * 0.95 *0.98 = Rs 446.88
