In the poem Lord Ullin's Daughter by Thomas Campbell, The Lord Ullin's Daughter was wrong in taking decision because when she and the chieftain was in the hurry to escape from that particular place they just requested the boatman to take them to away from the place.. The boatman refused to take them because the weather was stormy and it is advised not to go into the sea.. The chieftain mentioned the boatman as "thee" because the boatman is the only resource to rescue them from the Lord Ullin and his horsemen.. The chieftain offered the boatman a silver pound but the boatman doesn't expect it rather than he just accepted to rescue them only because the winsome lady(Lord Ullin's Daughter)..p but because of high waves in the sea they all died.. This is because the Lord Ullin's Daughter's wrong decision.. Rather than doing like this She must have approached her father about her love because she was afraid that Her father (Lord Ullin) is so angry that his daughter would rather cross the stormy sea than face her father. The storm is so strong that it causes the demise of Lord Ullin's daughter and her lover. In the end, the Lord is bereft that he has lost his daughter. The father's reaction signifies that the father is sympathetic to his daughter, and if the daughter would have waited a while without running away then the father might have agreed to her marriage to her beloved.
