James C. Owens (1913 – 1980) popularly known as Jesse Owens was an American track and field athlete, who broke the myth Adolf Hitler was trying to create - that the Aryan race of people are the ‘master race’ of the world.

Jesse Owens achieved this in the 1936 Olympics, when he won four gold medals, much against expectations of Hitler. Hitler hosted the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, mainly to prove his theory of Aryan supremacy. But it was dealt a heavy blow by Jesse Owens, when he won four gold medals in the 100 metres, 200 metres, long jump and the 4X100 metres relay events.
