In this, the warm ocean water at the surface is used to boil a volatile liquid (example: ammonia). A volatile liquid is a liquid which evaporates easily and has a low boiling point. The temperature of the surface water is enough to boil ammonia and convert it to ammonia vapour. This vapour is pressurised and used to turn a turbine, the same way as hydroelectricity. Once the vapour is passed, cold ocean water from deep down is used to cool these vapours. The vapours condense back to ammonia and then can be reused.
