                                              Summary

'Keeping it From Harold' is an interesting story that depicts how many sacrifices parents can make for the welfare of their children. Mr. and Mrs. Bramble are blessed with a son, Harold who is exceptionally brilliant child. As he grew up, his brilliance became a cause of worry for them. They did not want their son to be affected in any manner by Mr. Bramble's profession of boxing. After consideration and discussing with the Curate and uncle Percy, they decided to hide the truth about his father's profession.

Harold grew under the impression that his father was a commercial traveler. Now a situation arose that could reveal the truth to Harold. Mr. Bramble had to fight against famous American boxer named Murphy. He decided not to fight for the sake of his son. His coming fight with Murphy was a big national event. Its promotional publicity was going to be nationwide through papers, TV, mail, etc. Bill’s photograph was going to be on all the hoardings and mails. Harold read his mail regularly. He would come to know about his father’s profession, which they had kept hidden from him painstakingly all these years.

However, Mr. Bramble's decision caused a lot of anguish to the coach, Jerry Fisher. In anger he blurted out the secret to Harold. When Harold came to know his father was none other than ‘Young Porky’, he liked the revelation. He felt proud of his father. He himself turned out to be a fan of boxing and his father. He rather became angry at his parents for hiding his father’s profession from him, as at school, everyone would be scared of him.
