Cms is best school in uttar pradesh or I can say india, it nurture students so well that students feel proud after passing out,

The moral values and education given in this school is far better than any other.

From infrastructure to academics to sports, it is at its peak. The teacher and staff are really friendly and responsible for each and every child. Cms inculcate that values to a child which cant be achieved easily form any school, ull feel proud if ur a cmsian, beacuse of its fame. The development of child from academic status to sports to culture may be its singing, dances, debate etc. Audience phobia? That can never be found in a city montessori student. All over 10/10 for it. Words are less for describing the whole features of this.

Answer:

I am going to divide my answer into three parts;

1) Academics

2) Extra-curriculars

3) Social life/friends

1) Academics

I was a student in one of the better branches, in the early part of the previous decade. I have to say, the standard of teaching, while definitely comparable to other schools of equal repute in the city, was not as high when you consider the fees. Of course, one or two teachers were excellent. But when you are paying a fifth of your parents' income as fees, you expect more.

During the primary classes, I think there was too much emphasis on ridiculous things like putting a plastic cover on notebooks, writing a quote like, "Honesty is the best policy" at the beginning of every new topic, drawing a pencil line after every answer, numbering pages, etc. Of course, there are things we reminisce about. Well atleast sometimes. But my point is that when I pay the highest fee in the city for this school, I would expect to learn "how to think" and not this kind of mechanical stuff.

I think this problem is not specific to CMS, but is related to a deeper issue of the qualification of teachers. For instance, at the beginning of every chapter, a teacher is supposed to provide a big picture and the broader context. If he just has to repeat what's written in the book, then I can as well do that in a much more optimum way myself. Perhaps at home, where there are no distractions from rowdy male classmates or hot females (more on that later). I expect the teaching to be grade driven after say 9th standard, but surprisingly this attitude even exists for primary and junior sections.

Just to add one more point regarding profit making, I think many branches of CMS had a very professional approach to making money even beyond the fee. During my time, for instance, they introduced "CMS notebooks" (with Jai Jagat logo and all) which were way expensive than the usual ones.

2) Extra-curricular activities

Certainly, CMS is the best school in Lucknow for extra-curriculars. I don't want to get into specifics here, but let me just say there are a large number of national and international level competitions for students.

But here is my problem. Most of the time, all these activities are restricted to the alpha+ students. In a capitalist world-view this makes perfect sense. Infact I was one of such "class". But I think an average student benefits much less from these activities. It would be much better (I smell some socialism  here) if there were more branch-level or class-level competitions or activities, in a small group setting which would benefit everyone.

At the age of 10-16, I am not interested in building my resume to have all the right keywords like "international exposure", "participant on world peace initiative", etc. As I said before, at that age, my interest is to acquire an ability to understand and address complex questions later in life. Even as the alpha+ student, I think I participated in less group activities in my own class or branch than I did in these fancy buzzword competitions.

Another point about mechanics here is that I remember those speeches we had to prepare on the 26th Jan CMS tableau. Selected speakers from all CMS branches would come to one place and talk about the tableau. There were like four or five students from each branch and there were like 15 branches during my time. The remaining were listeners and would all sit like this on the grass:

And everyone spoke more or less the same thing. Sometimes even the exact same speech for people from the same branch. For four or five continuous hours. I mean come on! What is the use of repetition?

3) Social life

Well like any other thing in life, this depends on the individual. At a small age, it's mostly about finding an opportunity for a group activity or perhaps play a sport with your friends. But I have to say several branches in old Lucknow, such as Station Road, do not even have a proper playground. Sad.

When we grow up to reach say 9th or 10th, there is this other aspect of social bonding which goes beyond sports. We begin to form great friends, learn from each others' experiences, get different perspectives on life, politics and what not. While CMS does provide a nice pool of people, I have to admit that due to the high fee, it mostly attracts a certain class of students. This means that you are missing out something from your world-view. I think most of my classmates had more or less similar opinions about career or politics. So there wasn't much diversity there.

In summary, CMS is certainly one of the best schools atleast in Lucknow. Many of these shortcomings I mentioned may be common in other schools in the city as well. But I think to make amends, we must first acknowledge the problem. That's what I tried to do in this answer.
