Question tags :- Question tags are short interrogative clauses added like a tail to sentences , asking for confirmation .

1) In affirmative sentences , the question tag is made by repeating the auxiliary verb in the interrogative form in the negative , expecting the answer 'Yes' .

Eg :- You can speak Hindi , can't you ?

Here can't you means " not 'can you' ?

2) In negative sentences , the question tag is formed by repeating the auxiliary verb in interrogative form in the Affirmative , expecting the answer 'No' .

Eg :- Amrita is not well , is she ?

Here is she means not 'is not she' ?
