Answer:

Explanation:

Today, wool is a global industry, with Australia, Argentina, the United States, and New Zealand serving as the major suppliers of raw wool. While the United States is the largest consumer of wool fabric, Australia is the leading supplier. Australian wool accounts for approximately one-fourth of the world's production.

What for centuries was a small home-based craft has grown into a major industry. The annual global output is now estimated at 5.5 billion pounds. Though cotton is the number one plant used for fabrics and the number one fiber overall, the number one source for animal fiber is still wool.

Answer:

Wool can be obtained using the following steps:

  1. Shearing: This includes the removal of the fleece from the sheep
  2. Scouring: This includes the washing of the sheared fleece to remove grease and dirt
  3. Removing blurrs; Blurrs are are small fibers that are removed from the fleece. The fleece is again cleaned and washed
  4. Dyeing: The washed fibers are dyed
  5. Converting into yarns: The dyed fibers are then combed and straightened, before being rolled to form wool yarns.

Silk is obtained using the following steps:

  1. Cultivation of silkworms and harvesting the cocoons
  2. The cocoons are placed in boiling water, which kills the worms and allows a separation of the silk fibers from the cocoons.
  3. The silk fibers are unwound from the cocoons, and this process is called reeling.
  4. The silk fibers are then dyes, and spun to form silk thread, called silk yarns
  5. These yarns are woven on the silk looms to form the silk cloth
