I want to know that if we writ CO2 tgat is carbon dioxide so here in this O2 is 2 moles of oxygen or 2 atoms of oxygen ?? I am confused

according to your question. here 2 is number of atoms !!!

lemme explain why ??

suppose we take.

Mg ( s ) + O2 ===> 2 Mg O .


here , O2 represent the number of atoms that oxygen have two molecules ( atoms ) .



but , if we have , 2 MgO. here 2 represent the number of moles!!




so, simply

in Co2

O2 represent the number of atoms ( molecule )
