The Parakeet that Squawked in English by Ranjit Lal is tory about Shakespeare, a clver parakeet and aflock of brave jungle babblers who is involved in a kidnapping plot of a young girl named Jyoti and whom they save at the end

Explanation:

  • Shakespeare was a tall, handsome, parakeet with a colour of grass green all over, smart maroon shoulder patches, massive red bill that resembled a nut cracker, and slightly bulging orange-rimmed eyes. He had a hoarse and deep voice. The other Parakeets who were known as  the gang of Screechers and Shreikers looked disheveled  and untidy (just as jungle blabbers were supposed to look) before Shakespeare.
  • Shakespeare knew English which was taught to him by a little named Jyothi when we was confined in a cage in the same room where Jyothi lived. In actual, the little girl was kidnapped and she had taught Shakespeare few words which were " I am Jyoti Sen and I have been kidnapped for ransom". She afterwards had left Shakespeare free in the hope that he would convey this to someone outside who would rescue her.
  • When Shakespeare had met the Jungle Blabbers he had said those words to them, though not sure of those word. However, Shakespeare who was let free by the girl was more interested in teaching English to the other parakeets and he was so full of himself. It was the jungle blabbers who had doubt when Shakespeare had uttered the word "kidnapped for ransom" and it was their quick thinking that led to the rescue of Jyothi.
  • This also shows that Shakepeare was also not very smart and shrewd as he had taught himself to be and was not mush bothered about the kindness that little Jyothi had shown him by freeing him though she also had her own motive to do so.
