I was admiring beautiful red hibiscus flowers in my aunt’s garden when she came to me with a problem. She had three separate containers filled with baking soda, salt and bleaching powder. She asked me to identify them as the containers got mixed up? Can you guess how I solved her problem? -Please answer fast

Answer:

bleaching powder can be easily identified by the strong smell of chlorine. When calcium hydroxide(slaked lime) reacts with chlorine, it gives calcium oxychloride(bleaching powder) and water is formed. The water solution of bleaching powder is basic in nature.

Salt crystals are translucent and cubic in shape; they normally appear white but impurities may give them a blue or purple tinge

Sodium bicarbonate is an odorless, white crystalline solid or fine powder. It has a slightly alkaline taste
