.

Suddenly something huge stumbled over my head and I fell down. In a semi-conscious state I turned around to see Sanju there. He picked me up with both his hands and moved towards the sea.

“And you thought it’s all coincidence” he said with an evil grin, throwing me into water.

Choosing a hotel in the spookiest corner of the city, those deliberate loud-snores, her whatsapp pings; reasons for everything were clear now.

I was walking on the shore when I suddenly heard someone sobbing. It was a fine evening, glorified by a beautiful sunset, and weekend assured that beach was full with people enjoying around, and gushing waters of sea waves, kissing the tiny little feet of kids, laying along the shore. As usual, I was walking cross the shore, barefooted, enjoying the cold wet sand, and breeze of wind spreading the fragrance of salty sea around.

I looked around in wonder to see who was sobbing, only to find a cute little girl, sitting on ground looking at her broken sand castle, with tiny water puddles in it. Perhaps, the tidal wave, breached her dream creation. I went to her and asked "Hey cutie pie, what happened sweet lady?" Her eyes filled with water raised to look at me, and she cutely pointed to the waves and her castle, with disappointment.

"You can make it again." I said, sitting down beside her and helping her make it. "No, this bad water will again break it. It did even before." and started crying, wiping her tears with her little sand stucked hands, making sand crystals stick on her cheeks too. I wiped her cheeks and without a word more, made a kind of wall in front of her castle. She looked with wonder, and said "You don't know how to make a castle." I smiled at her innocence "Sweetie. I am not making a castle; I am making a wall to protect your castle. See." and pointed towards the wave coming, which was diverted aside by the wall.

"When you love castle, you should also learn to protect it. We cannot stop the waves, but we can protect the castle. Right?" I told to her, as she happily jumped clapping with joy, and running towards her parents sitting at a distance, fetching them to show the wall.

I smiled, and stood up walking the hands, when I realized looking at the wall protecting the castle, that while making her learn a lesson on protecting the castle, I also taught her, and learnt myself the reality of life. Hurdles will come, issues will never stop trying to crash us. We cannot stop the issues happening, we just cannot, as it is a part of our life, but we can learn how to protect .

I saw an old lady who was staring at me. It was raining so I thought she might be looking at me for help. I hustled to the door and gave her my umbrella. She thanked me and took my umbrella with her. I said that it was my mom's umbrella and i could give her some shed in my backyard. She said that she was happy with my gift. I was very confused so I ran towards her and grabbed my umbrella. I said with a firm voice, "Ma'am I am willing to help u but i can not let u take my umbrella. My dearest apologies". She looked at me and then at my umbrella. She handed the umbrella to me and started walking towards the woods. I had this regret in my heart. I have a house, i have a shelter from this rain, I can buy as many umbrellas as i want. I thought that i was exaggerating the situation a little too much. I went to the old lady and said that i was sorry for being rude and she could keep my umbrella. She said, "Sorry son, but u r confused whether to be nice or rude. If u r doing this under pressure i am happy we go our ways." I was very confused. Those words made me sad. I know that i shouldn't have asked for the umbrella, but then she was stealing it from me. I was so confused. That rainy night will never be forgotten by me. I still see that old lady in the woods but never will i ever be able to face her.

I was getting ready for bed and I saw that old lady walking infront of my house in circles. It looked very eerie so i went out to check what she was doing. For the first time she had a stick in her hand. It was very cold outside so i went upstaires in my attic for a warm pair of gloves and a shawl. I peeped out from the window to see if she was still there. She was gone. I hurried to the front door and saw the whole garden empty. She has been acting very peculiar as much as i remember but this was just spooky. I walked further towards the woods. It was all quiet, then i saw two shiny dots deep inside. It was very shiny so i got attracted and started walking towards it. After a while following it, i heard growling from behind me. The two shiny dots were actually eyes of some mystical creature. It gave me goosebumps, so i turned around and there was it. A mystical creature--It was a werewolf. I ran forward, towards the darkest portion of the woods. The wolf wasn't following me. I ran this far away i can't even go back.

I felt something on my shoulder. I was shaking and shivering. My hands started shaking like an old lady's. I couldn't help it but burst into tears. I felt something warm on my shoulders. I stood up to look and i saw that old lady. She had covered me with a beautiful shawl. I thanked her and then apologized to her. She smiled. She said, " My gift".
I had a sudden headache. A little while later i woke up and found my self in my bed. It was five o' clock in the morning. I saw that exact shawl on my bedside table. I don't understand, how can a lady be so kind to forgive a rude boy like me. A letter on the shawl said the same words as hers, "My gift".
