I was reading a book , when I looked up . There at the window I saw a flash of golden light . It was absolutely blinding . I shielded my eyes . Then the light was gone . I assumed that it was just the reflection of the Sun . But there were no shiny objects anywhere close by . I didn’t think of it too much and went back to my reading . After a while I heard a scream . Mom . I dashed down the stairs to see her crying . “What’s the matter , Mum ?” , I asked , worried . “It’s my necklace , it’s missing !”, she cried . “Don’t worry mum , we’ll find it .” , I consoled her . Then I remembered . The window . I raced back up the stairs to my room’s window . I searched the branches of the trees for any sign of glimmer . I couldn’t get a good view from the window so I decided to climb onto the tree and search for it . I climbed slowly and steadily , looking here and there . The a glow caught my eyes . I inched closer to the source . As I suspected , mom’s necklace was there , with a bunch of other shiny things . All of it was inside a nest , a magpie comfortably cuddled in it . As soon as it saw me , it flew off, throwing me off balance , almost making me toppled over . But I quickly regained balanced and took everything and handed it over to mum . She was over the moon and explained that all of these things were ours . She decided to award me by doubling my weekly allowance . I guess some things are meant to be .
