I was sitting at the window seat in the train and talking to my friend outside. Suddenly someone came to my friend and asked for some water.He was an old man. The man was in a very poor condition. He was coughing and sneezing very loudly. I had half a bottle of water so I gave it to him and he drank it very fast.My friend got into the train with the old man. As soon as the old man came near to the berth he became unconscious and fell down. We both with the help of another passenger lifted that man and made him sleep on our berth. After 2-3hrs he woke up and started behaving weirdly. All of us were stunned to see him in this condition. The man sitting next to us worked in an NGO so he had some old clothes with him which he gave to the man. Both the men then went to the toilet and the passenger helped the old man wear the clothes. The passenger also helped him in freshening up. After all this they again came to our seat and we made the old man sit comfortably. My friend brought some food from the railway pantry for the man. He ate all the food as if he had not eaten anything since years. Then he started behaving normally. He blessed all of us first. He said that we both looked like his grand children. Now we both asked him why was he suffering like this. Suddenly to our surprise he started crying. We asked him what happened but he continued crying. He then said us that he got married at a very young age. He was 12 and his wife was 10. Both of their parents made them get married. In childhood they were like friends but after some years when they grew up, he had to go to Delhi for his business. They both loved each other but their love faded because of the distance between them. He then cheated her by marrying another modern girl. She also left him and went on for another marriage. But after some days the modern girl left the man because his business got heavy loans and it eventually closed. He realised that he left his true love only for his own benefits. Now he and his two children were left lonely by the other girl. That girl didn't even care for her own children. He raised his children with utmost love and care and after some years his son became a doctor and his daughter became a news reporter. Then both his children got married and started their families. A few years after the birth of his grandson his daughter in law started ill treating him and one day his son threw him out of the house. His daughter took him to her home but after a few months in a road accident his daughter died and he was again threw out by her in laws. Now he is living only with all these memories of his past. We were left in shock by his story. The passenger who was working in the NGO decided to help him and send him to his home once again. After a day we all reached our destinations and the old man went with the passenger. Then after a few days the passenger called us and said that the old man didn't come with him to his residence and when he inquired at the old man's house about all this,he got to know that he died 2 years back in a train accident and still haunts the people coming from the Delhi-Kanpur train. The phone suddenly fell from my friend's hand.
