Answer:

i] Atomic number -

The  number of protons in the nucleus of an atom, which is characteristic of a chemical element and determines its place in the periodic table.

ii] mass number-

Mass number, in nuclear physics, the sum of the numbers of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus of an atom.

iii] he mass number of an atom is equal to the number of protons plus the number of neutrons that it contains. In other words, the number of neutrons in any atom is its mass number minus its atomic number. Although all atoms of a given element must have the same atomic number, they need not all have the same mass number.

Atomic number

$\longrightarrow$ The number of protons present in the nucleus of an atom of ane element is known as its atomic number.

$\longrightarrow$ It is denoted by Z(zita).

$\longrightarrow$ We know that alom of an element is neutral, so the total number of protons = Number of elections. So, that the total number elections present in an atom of an element also represent, its atomic number.

$\longrightarrow$ [z=p=e]

$\longrightarrow$ Example : Atomic number of sodium is 11. it means. Z=11 We know that z = p = e = 11

Mass number

$\longrightarrow$ The sum of total number of protons and the total number of et Neutrons present in one atom of an element is called the mass number of an element.

$\longrightarrow$ It is denoted by A.

A = P + N

$\longrightarrow$ Mass number = No. of protons+ No. of neutrons

Relationship between Mass number and atomic number

z = p = e

A = p + n

z = p

A = z + n

n = A - z

It helps you.
