coal is black gold.it is formed by the vegetative matter which was buried in the past ages has changed to coal due to high temperature and pressure

coal and petroleum products are composed of carbon.when it is burnt ,it produces large amount of smoke, which is very dangerous. so these are considered as air pollutants
