I what is the total number of matchstics that will be used from the first square up to 100th group of adjacent square​

We can determine a pattern from the image to find the number of matchsticks required for making a fixed number of squares.

From the image, we can see the after the 1st square (which need 4 matchsticks) we need only 3 matchsticks to make another square.

So for making 10 squares, we need:

4+3×9=4+27=31 matchsticks
