I what way deficiency of nutrients harmful to crops

If the crops don't get enough nutrients.then it will not grow properly and the yield will be less and the producer may have a huge loss.The crops need to be fed by nutrients and the soil also should be fertile.We should also take care that the crop is safe without any pests.we should spray pesticides or any other things by which the bacteria's won't destroy the crops....
