this all happens because of Archimedes principle flotation which states that a floating body displaces its own weight in the fluid on which floats.

the other law is when a body is partially or wholly immersed in water it experiences an upthrust equal to the weight of fluid displaced.

so the answer here is the cork will float again because the buoyant force will upwardly act on it
