i. When is the deflection observed in galvanometer ?ii. How will the deflection in galvanometer be affected if current carrying solenoid coil is displaced first

slowly and then quickly with respect to call?

iii. What will be the deflection in galvanometer when both coils are at rest and constant current is flowing

through solenoid coil?

Answer:

When the magnet is stationary, there is no deflection in the galvanometer. The pointer reads zero. This means no current is flowing through the circuit of the coil.

If the south pole of the magnet is brought towards the solenoid, the galvanometer shows deflection. Current flows in the coil of the solenoid in the clockwise direction and the galvanometer shows deflection towards the left.

You should not see any deflection in the galvanometer. At the moment, you move the magnet towards the coil, you should be able to see the pointer deflects in one direction. Note that it is no necessarily for you to move the magnet into the coil, you can move it below or above the coil as well.
