Answer:

i) here there is an AP series of first term a=8 and common difference d is 12-8=4

let 48 is the n th term

so,

a+(n-1)d=48

=> 8+(n-1).4=48

=> (n-1).4=48-8=40

=> n-1=40/4=10

=> n=10+1=11

so,48 is the 11th term

ii)In this series first term a =20 and common difference d =16-20= -4

let -96 is the nth term

so,

a+(n-1)d= -96

=> 20+(n-1).-4= -96

=> (n-1).-4= -96-20= -116

=> n-1= -116/-4=29

=> n=29+1=30

so,-96 is the 30 th term

there are 30 terms
