Question

i)Can we call Ionic Compounds As Radical compounds?

ii)Can NaCl be called as radical compound?

Why? Why not?

Answer

I) No, ionic compounds cannot be called as Radical compounds because ions have a charge, whereas radicals are neutral. Also, ions in nature tend to be compensated by ions with opposite charges, whereas radicals are very reactive and thus short lived.

ii) Yes because it has two radicals ,Sodium us a basic Radical while chloride is an acidic radical.

Know more

Radical is a molecule that contains one pair of unpaired electrons.

One of the simplest and most notable example is rfe hydroxyl (H0•).

Moses Gomberg was the first to discovered radical in 1900.He was a chemistry professor at the University of Michigan.
